A video of Australian cricketers mocking India’s refusal to shake their Pakistani counterparts’ hands has been deleted by the broadcaster that posted it.
Earlier this week, streaming service Kayo, a subsidiary of Foxtel, promoted its coverage of Australia’s upcoming white-ball series against India with a satirical video in which comic duo The Grade Cricketer worked with male and female players on alternatives to the handshake.

It included Josh Hazlewood, Mitch Marsh, Glenn Maxwell and women’s captain Alyssa Healy mocking the handshake refusal that happened at the recent Asia Cup and Women’s World Cup.
Not long after the video was published, it was deleted, although exactly why is unclear.
The video was made in a nod to last month’s Asia Cup, during which Indian and Pakistani players did not shake hands after any of their three fixtures, which included the final.
When India won the tournament, they did not collect the trophy, which was due to be presented by a Pakistani, Mohsin Naqvi. Instead, India lifted an imaginary trophy on the stage in Dubai.

Naqvi is Pakistan’s interior minister as well as the president of the Asian Cricket Council, the tournament’s organiser. After the tournament, Salman Ali Agha, the Pakistan captain, said India had “disrespected” his team by refusing to shake hands.
The move was copied by the women’s side during their match against Pakistan during the ongoing World Cup.
The Asia Cup meeting between the two teams was the first in cricket since the brief outbreak of conflict earlier this year, and tensions remain high.

India’s players are in Perth training for their eight-match white-ball tour, which starts on Sunday and does not finish until November 8, under a fortnight before Australia take on England in the Ashes.
Australia’s all-format all-rounder Cameron Green has dropped out of their ODI squad due to a side strain, which has led to a recall for Marnus Labuschagne, who has been in prime form in the Sheffield Shield.
