WORCESTERSHIRE Ambassadors are set to sponsor the Street Sixes cricket tournament.

The sponsorship, announced on Friday (May 23), brings together cricket lovers and community supporters to foster a sense of unity and break down boundaries.

The aim is to create opportunities for all residents, regardless of their backgrounds.

This is an initiative of the Worcestershire Cricket Foundation, which currently runs cricket programmes to promote inclusion, improve well-being and empower youth.

By joining forces, they aim to grow these programmes beyond their current capacities.

Julia Williams, of the Worcestershire Ambassadors, said: “Worcestershire Ambassadors are proud to continue supporting street cricket – a fantastic initiative that brings communities together.

“The Worcestershire County Cricket Foundation does incredible work, and we’re delighted to play a part in helping them make a real difference.”

With the sponsorship, the foundation said it can now accommodate more teams and players in the tournament.

The involvement of the Ambassadors means that businesses, community groups, and individuals can now take part in the event.

The foundation is encouraging full community participation in the event, inviting everyone from seasoned cricket professionals to those simply looking to have fun
