Women’s rugby union club in North Cumbria secures funding grant


A RUGBY club in North Cumbria has secured a funding grant.

Silloth Rugby Club has announced that it has secured a five-figure grant from Sport England.

Silloth Tigers are a women’s rugby union club in North Cumbria.

The club will be using this money to improve the changing rooms and toilet facilities.

They say that supporting women and girls is a ‘top priority’ and they are hoping to attract more players to the club.

A spokesperson at the club said: “Silloth Rugby Club is thrilled to announce that we have secured a fantastic five-figure grant from the Sport England Movement Fund Programme.

“This funding allows us to launch Phase One of our much-needed changing rooms and toilet facilities project, focused on providing a safe, clean, energy-efficient, and welcoming environment for our women’s and youth teams.

“Supporting our women and girls is a top priority. This investment reflects our commitment to not only retain current players but to attract new talent across all abilities.

“On behalf of the committee, we want to say: you deserve this, and we are proud to support you every step of the way. Well done to everyone involved.”
