Rugby legend to speak at city event

A FORMER England rugby union star is set to speak at a networking event later this month.

Simon Shaw, the ex-international and Wasps legend who played as a lock, will make an appearance at the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce’s Get Connected in Worcester event which runs on Wednesday, June 18 from 12.30pm until 2.30pm.

The events are a way for employees to connect with like-minded individuals.

It will take place at the site of MiTek’s new 278,048-square foot unit which is currently under construction at Worcester Six Business Park.

The events are usually free for chamber members but, to mark a decade of Stoford’s development at the business park, the event is free for everyone.

A marquee will be set up on site, offering guests a unique view overlooking the development of MiTek’s new EMEA headquarters.

A pig roast buffet will be available accompanied by a variety of salads, soft drinks, beer and wine.

Seating will be arranged at tables of 10 within the marquee, providing an opportunity to relax, network and enjoy the event in a comfortable setting.

Attendees will hear from guest speakers, including Mr Shaw — who also played for the British and Irish Lions — and senior representatives from Stoford who will welcome attendees and give a brief overview of the scheme.

This will be followed by James Morgan, MD of MiTek, who will share insights into why Worcester was chosen as the location for its new headquarters.

For anyone interested in attending this event get in touch with the team at the chamber by email at events@hwchamber.co.uk or call 01905 673600.
