The Isle of Wight Cricket Board has celebrated volunteers, players, and future stars at their annual awards night.
The event, held on Saturday, October 11, at Newclose County Cricket Ground, saw players, coaches, volunteers, and families from across the Island come together to acknowledge significant achievements in the sport.

Awards were presented in various categories, recognising junior development, coaching excellence, grassroots innovation, and lifelong dedication to the sport.
Special attention was given to those working behind the scenes to help grow the game on the Island.
The night was also an opportunity to express gratitude to the hundreds of volunteers, families, and players who dedicate their time to cricket every week.
Some of the key community and volunteer awards included the Unsung Hero Award, which was presented to Harry Poynter for his relentless behind-the-scenes efforts, and the Volunteer Grounds Team Award, which went to the Newport CC Grounds Team.

The 175 Committee at Ventnor CC received the Growing the Game Award, while Jerin Padavath was honoured with the Inspired to Play Award for his efforts in attracting new audiences to the sport.
Notable individual achievements by players were also highlighted at the event.
Lara Crouch from Newport was commended for leading the wicket-taking with nine wickets at an average of 5.56.
Steve Egerton-Read from Shanklin and Godshill was recognised as Division 2’s top run-scorer, amassing 568 runs at 94.67.

Alex Barton, from the Isle of Wight Cricket Board, said: “It was an excellent evening to celebrate both the performances of talented cricketers across the Island and the incredible volunteers who make everything possible.
“We had a fantastic turnout, with over 200 people coming together from across the cricket community to celebrate the 2025 season — a real reflection of how strong and connected cricket is on the Isle of Wight.”
The awards night served as a testament to the tireless efforts of volunteers, coaches, and players, all of whom play a crucial role in promoting and developing cricket on the island.
