FOOTBALL:

CHANGES are on the way in the Warrington Sunday Football League.

They are looking for new teams for their open-age section for season 2025/2026.

Also they are looking to form a youth league for 18 to 21-year-olds for next season, running separately from the open age.

The league boasts having the lowest fees and fine in the north west.

NETBALL:

A WARRINGTON netball team are celebrating success abroad.

Penketh Panthers walking netball team beat some stiff opposition to win the Sun Sport Walking Netball Tournament in Lloret de Mar, Spain.

They defeated all of the opposition to win £500 towards equipment or kit.

TENNIS:

LYMM Manor Road Tennis Club staged a successful School Festival.

With assistance from year 9 girls at Lymm High School, coach Oli Jones organised and ran an afternoon of games for more than 40 primary school children.

RUGBY LEAGUE:

A WARRINGTON teenager has been selected for Wales under 18s rugby league squad for the forthcoming Four Nations.

Alex Richardson, who plays his club rugby with Latchford Giants, is in the 25-player squad for a tournament that starts with Wales’ clash with Ireland at The Lextan Gnoll in Neath on Saturday, May 31.

ATHLETICS:

TWO Warrington Athletics Club runners took part in the Christleton 5K road race on Friday.

Dave Norman was 228th in 19mins 16secs to win the over 65s age group.

Louise Blizzard finished in 288th place overall in 20mins 18secs to place 49th woman and fourth over 45 woman.
