Guiseley facing basement battle as Rangers’ rugby league struggles continue

GUISELEY Rangers continue to struggle in Division Six of the Yorkshire Men’s League.

They put in a decent display at Harrogate Hawks last Friday, but were eventually beaten 34-16 in North Yorkshire.

The result leaves them second-bottom above only Sheffield Hawks, the only side they have beaten in the league this season.

The Hawks are now just a point behind Rangers however, avoiding defeat for the first time this year with a thrilling 28-28 draw against Knottingley Mustangs on Saturday afternoon.

Guiseley are hosting Sheffield tomorrow, looking to increase the gap to their visitors at the bottom of the table.

The reverse fixture in South Yorkshire last month was a high-scoring affair, Guiseley eventually coming away with an entertaining 44-32 victory.
