CRICKET fans are set for an up-close encounter with the legendary Lord Ian Botham.

The former England captain, whose stunning career spanned more than 15 years, will take the stage at the Swan Theatre in Worcester.

Best known for his spectacular performances during the 1981 Ashes and his 383 wickets, Lord Botham was knighted for his services to cricket and to charity in 2007.

The event, An Evening with Ian Botham, is slated for Wednesday, September 3, at 7.30pm.

Tickets, priced from £35 to £103, are on sale.
