RUGBY league fans are in for a hard-hitting spectacle as the British Army Inter-Corps Rugby League Championship comes to Warrington.
With eight teams competing for the prestigious Lawson Trophy, the competition promises high-intensity action, fierce rivalries, and a powerful display of teamwork and discipline – all from serving soldiers of the British Army.
The tournament is contested over three rounds in the sport’s northern heartlands before heading South for the Semis and Finals.
Crosfields ARLFC, well known for its links to the military rugby league community through its annual Armed Forces Day and Tom Sephton Memorial Trophy Festival, will host the 3rd Round on Wednesday, June 18.
Each festival features four matches in a single day, with the first kick-off at midday.
It’s a fantastic opportunity to watch ultra-competitive Armed Forces rugby league up close, meet members of todays Armed Forces, and enjoy a full afternoon of sport – and best of all, entry is free.
Each team represents a different Corps within the British Army, bringing their own strengths, traditions, and ethos to the pitch.
Matches in Great Sankey will include; Infantry Vs Royal Artillery; Royal Logistic Corps Vs REME; Royal Engineers Vs Spartans and Royal Armoured Corps Vs Royal Signals
A spokesman said: “The Inter-Corps Championship isn’t just about rugby, it’s a celebration of service, camaraderie, and the shared values that unite the British Army.
