THERE are three unbeaten teams after two matches of the Aire-Wharfe League Premier Division – Otley, Steeton and Horsforth Hall Park.

Hosts North Leeds put Otley in, but soon regretted it as the visitors scored 343-7.

Alex Atkinson led from the front with 107 off just 68 deliveries, including 18 fours and three sixes, and skipper Josh Atkinson and, more obviously, Damon Reeve followed suit.

The Atkinsons added 131 for the second wicket, with Josh hitting 11 fours off his 98 balls, while Reeve finished on 87 not out off 68 deliveries, cracking 11 fours and three sixes.

Reeve put on 66 unbroken with Freddie Hill (22no), but North Leeds then had no answer to James Boyce (5-40) and were castled for 180.

Hall Park had a very different kind of game at home to Pool, who were all out for 125 after being sent in, with Tom Lester and Will Pallister both scoring 32 and putting on 67 for the fifth wicket.

The miserly Sam Hyde (3-12 off seven overs) put the skids under the innings, with Charles Greatbatch (4-42) and Henry Wainman (2-12) finishing things off.

Opener Jack Newby (37) then helped Hall Park to 72-2 but they collapsed to 88-7 before edging to a one-wicket victory with two partnerships of 15 and an unbroken last-wicket stand of eight.

However, that was tough luck on Pool’s Charles Bradbourne (3-10) and Nat Cutts (2-20).

Burley are up to fourth after a comprehensive victory at Addingham, who made 263 after being sent in.

That total looked like it might be higher after Jacob Parker (95 at better than a run a ball, including 10 fours and three sixes) and Ricky Palacio (44) put on 79 for openers.

Skipper Richard Atkins (37), Nick Farrell (20) and Edward Croft (32no) continued the good work, Jonathan Postle (3-31) and Jason Wright (3-50) being rewarded with the ball for Burley.

However, that target was passed with almost 10 overs left as all five batters made runs.

Wright (33) and skipper Mark Harrison (78) put on 87 for the first wicket, and Harrison, who hit eight fours and three sixes from 88 deliveries, then added 78 with Dan Revis (64no).

The latter then saw Burley to an eight-wicket win in an unbroken partnership of 101 with Jayden Vince (66no), who was only in for 49 balls and hit nine fours and four sixes.

There are four teams in Division One who have won two from two, and third-placed Ilkley are one of them after earning bragging rights over derby rivals Olicanian, who have now lost two from two.

Ollies won the toss and opted to field, with Ilkley scoring 215-8, opener Nick Bateup scoring 38 and Alexes Bailey (46) and Quaife (49) adding 83 for the fourth wicket.

Tom Starkey (3-32) was the most successful Olicanians bowler, but, Dave Healey (42) apart, their batting then failed as they were toppled for 107, chiefly by Paul Dover (3-22) and Dan Bott (3-10).

Rawdon, who are fourth, lost a nip-and-tuck contest at Bardsey.

The visitors won the toss and made 251-9 after a middle-order stand of 82 between Andrew Duckworth (54) and James Doidge (38), with No 7 Saud Munir (68 off 69 balls, including eight fours and two sixes) ensuring that the innings didn’t fall away.

Contributions of 49, 32, 44 not out and 39 then gave Bardsey the edge as they won by two wickets with four overs left.

Menston were also involved in a tight match at home to Kirkstall Educational, scoring 228-6 after opting to bat.

Captain and keeper Adam Montague-Miller featured in two notable stands – 50 for the first wicket with Christian Wood (19) and 71 for the second with overseas Fraser Oates (51) – before Charlie O’Hara (55no) opened his shoulders down the order.

However, Kirkstall’s reply was solid, with three of their six batters making 40 or more and they won by six wickets, although Menston took the innings into the 48th over.

Guiseley have also lost two from two, visitors New Rover making 199-9 after winning the toss, Aniket Rana (3-35) and Louie Kenton (4-49) getting among the wickets.

After tea, however, only Jake Whittaker (22) and captain Joel Newlove (27) passed 20 in a disappointing reply of 108.

Green Lane, who had a first-week bye, are off the mark in Division Two – and in some style.

Sent in at home to Leeds Modernians, they made 329-6, opener Chris Bogdanos (114) and Ollie Halliday (78) putting on 138 for the second wicket.

Mods could never take victims in quick succession, however, and home captain Dan Husband (33no) and Dan Frost (44) added 68 for the sixth wicket before Neil Britton smacked 22 not out off just nine balls.

Jonathan Wiggan (3-47) was the most successful Mods bowler, but only Jordan Symonds (36) then shone with the bat as Mods were back in the pavilion for a paltry 85, Jack (4-47) and Ben Roberts (4-19) doing the damage.

Horsforth were much more competitive at Old Leodiensians, who made 257-7 after being asked to bat, Joe O’Gorman taking 3-48.

The latter then starred with the bat, being in for all the 50 overs in scoring 126 not out, hitting 13 fours and a six.

He added 71 with Harry Jeavons (21), 84 with Graeme Whiles (44) and 69 with Tom Green (25), but they lost by 17 runs, despite being only five wickets down.
