Manchester United ‘put cut-price goalkeeper Altay Bayindir through early medical amid injury concern’

Potential new Manchester United signing Altay Bayindir was pictured after a reported medical test to sign for the Premier League club on Tuesday.

Reports suggest the Red Devils are in talks to activate the goalkeeper’s £4.25million release clause to sign him from Fenerbahce.

The long-running deal is said to hinge on a back injury which, if it passes medical checks, will green light his move to Old Trafford according to the Mail.

Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu released an image of Bayindir, purportedly of the player departing a fitness test in Athens with United staff.

Bayindir is wanted to replace Dean Henderson while United are also monitoring Benfica goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos.

The Greece international was dropped by Benfica on the weekend after falling out with manager Roger Schmidt.

Crystal Palace are in talks to sign United reserve Henderson, who spent the last two seasons on loan with Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest. Steve Cooper’s side are also said to be keen on bringing him back to the City Ground.
