Manchester Originals and Northern Superchargers will meet again later in the tournament as they are ‘paired rivals’

Manchester Originals’ matches against Northern Superchargers in the men’s and women’s Hundred were both abandoned without a ball being bowled because of bad weather at Old Trafford.

The women’s game was due to begin at 15:00 BST but was called off because of heavy rain, thunder and lightning.

The rain eased in the evening but returned shortly before the men’s fixture was due to begin at 18:30.

The match was eventually called off at 19:30.

Originals’ women remain without a win in The Hundred but, with both teams taking one point from the game, have their first point of the competition.

Superchargers, who are top of the early women’s table, have five points from three games.

The Superchargers’ men take their first point of the competition. Manchester, meanwhile, have three points from three games.

The competition resumes on Thursday when London Spirit host Trent Rockets – the women’s match gets under way at 15:00, with the men following at 18:30.
