WEPL Premier One: Taunton St Andrews 291 (20pts) defeat Thornbury 281 (10pts) by 10 runs
There was cause for celebration at the Wyvern Club on Saturday evening after a young Taunton St Andrews First XI beat Thornbury by 10 runs in WEPL Premier Division.

For the Saints, who sit at the bottom of the table this was only their third league win of the season while Thornbury started the day in third place in the table.
After choosing to bat first the hosts lost opener Louis Kraucamp for 12 with the score on 17 and when Jay Terry followed for 15 they were 50 for two.
Gabe Galman-Finley was joined by Ben Mason who between them over the course if the next 20 overs dominated proceedings and took the total onto 185 when Mason was out for 94 which he scored off 69 balls with eight 4s and seven 6s.

Shortly afterwards Galman- Finley went for 61 which came off 81 deliveries with eight 4s after which James Matravers with 26 and Nick Watson who made 19 added 41 for the fifth wicket.

Later in the order Toby Williams-Thomas hit 26 and skipper Joe Wadham remained unbeaten on 18 as Saints were all out for 291 in 48.3 overs.
When Thornbury replied they reached 100 for four in the 16th over and looked to be pacing their response well but then slipped to 182 for eight by the 35th over, which swung the game back in favour of the hosts.
A ninth wicket partnership of 73 seemed to put Thornbury back on track but that was broken by Jay Terry when he accounted for Jack Worgan for 40.
Thornbury’s last pair were edging ever closer until Rufus Williams-Thomas had Andy Weeks caught by Ollie Heard for 38 and the visitors were all out for 281 in 49.3 overs.

Both Williams-Thomas and Williams-Pritchard ended with three wickets apiece.
In the Premier Division of the Somerset Cricket League Saints Second XI were away at Chard where after choosing to bat the home side posted 315 for seven from their 45 overs.
The total was dominated by Reid Mawdsley who made 134 off 109 balls with 18 fours and one 6 and Jon Dalwood who hit an unbeaten 77 off 65 balls with nine 4s and a six, the pair adding 132 for the fifth wicket.
For the Saints both Nathan Dimond and CJ McKenna took two wickets each,
When the visitors replied they were all out for 203 in 41 overs, of which Brendan Coles hit 32, while McKenna with 34 and Sam Cohen who scored 37 added 52 for the sixth wicket.

Dalwood was the pick of the bowlers taking four for 43 from his nine overs, two maidens, while Chris Scott finished with three for 27 from nine with one maiden.
