Impressive team and individual performances for Somerset pathway teams


The Somerset Pathway  Under 18 teams have continued to be in action over the last few weeks with a number of impressive team and individual performances.

The Girls Under 18s were in T20 action at Reigate when they played two matches against Surrey.

In the first game after being asked to bat Somerset were restricted to 132 for four of which Lucy Hawker made an unbeaten 55 off 43 balls with nine 4s and Charlotte Webber 22, the pair adding 59 for the fourth wicket.

Surrey in reply were all out for 70 in 17.2 overs, Poppy Hawker claiming four for 14 and Lucy Hawker three for 19.

In the second match opting to bat Somerset posted 165 for four of which Lucy Hawker made 81 and Leila  Moledina 31 the pair sharing a partnership of 112.

Surrey were then dismissed for 122 Moledina rounding off a good day by taking five for 17 from four overs.

Against Devon at Abbotskerswell in the Girls Under 18 KO Cup Somerset posted 218 for five from their 50 overs of which  Charlotte Webber made an unbeaten 64 off 113 balls with four 4s while Leila Moledina made 49.

In reply the hosts were bowled out for 93 in 29.1 overs, Anu Balasubramaniam taking three for seven from eight overs two of which were maidens while Poppy Hawker ended with three for 17 from five.

Somerset Under 18 Boys hosted their Worcestershire counterparts who batting first made 172 for seven from 20 overs, Harvey Richards taking two for 19 and Josh Nott two for 37.

The hosts in reply reached 176 for four in 15.5 overs, Seb Linnit making 65 off 34 balls with eleven 4s and two 6s and Ben Mason an unbeaten 54 from 19 overs with four 4s and six 6s.

The Under 18s played two T20 matches at Moseley, in the first of which they faced Gloucestershire who were limited to 138 for eight. Lachlan Rice taking three for 24.
